Multiple Natural Springs Emerge Across Islamabad [Video]

Multiple natural springs have suddenly appeared across Islamabad following heavy rain, causing water to flow onto roads. The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has confirmed that no underground water supply lines have been detected at the sites inspected. Sardar Zimri, CDA Director General Water, stated that the springs are natural and not man-made.

At Zero Point on the Islamabad Expressway, water emerged from the road's surface, spilling onto the busy road. Prior to this, the same location yielded water in 2011 before it ceased within a few days. CDA officials have expressed concern over the issue, particularly regarding safety measures for the public.

Recent rainfall has likely caused a rise in groundwater levels, triggering the emergence of these natural springs. The CDA is actively cleaning drainage lines along the roads and excavating deeper to control water pressure and manage the flow. Zimri also noted that similar springs have appeared at other sites in Islamabad. These include a spot beneath a hill near the Pakistan Monument and from a hill adjacent to the Minister Enclave.

The increased groundwater levels are providing at least some relief as Islamabad has experienced water shortages in recent months.
