Manoj Bajpayee’s Gandhi transformation stuns in first look

Dubai: Manoj Bajpayee has astounded audiences with his remarkable metamorphosis to embody Mahatma Gandhi in filmmaker Sudhir Mishra's forthcoming historical drama. The actor's first look, unveiled on Sunday, starkly contrasts with his usual on-screen personas. The transformation into the revered independence figure has already generated considerable buzz, as the film delves into a lesser-examined 21-day span of India's struggle for freedom.

The producers have maintained secrecy regarding the film's title and release date. Bajpayee shares the screen with seasoned actor Sudhir Mishra, whose filmography includes 'Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi' and 'Dharavi'. Key supporting role is played by Saurabh Shukla. Under the banner of Benaras Mediaworks, the project is directed by Mishra and produced by Anubhav Sinha, Narendra Hirawat, and NH Studioz.

Simultaneously, Bajpayee is preparing for the release of 'Last Man in Tower', co-starring Boman Irani and Divya Dutta. Directed by Ben Rekhi and produced by Rana Daggubati's Spirit Media, this movie is adapted from Aravind Adiga's novel. Bajpayee and Boman Irani will make their on-screen debut together on September 11. In a separate production, Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan trades violence for the venerated role of India's PM Narendra Modi in a biopic titled Maa Vande.
