Man stabbed to death after fight outside Kirinyaga bar

A 28-year-old man from Kirinyaga County named Derick Muchira Mwangi lost his life after being stabbed during an altercation that occurred outside a bar called Club Vegas Bar and Restaurant on Saturday night. The incident took place around 11pm when Mwangi and his friend were walking home after leaving the entertainment venue. According to police, the two men had been drinking together at the bar before the fight erupted approximately 50 meters from the club.

Mwangi sustained a neck wound from the assailant's stab and was immediately taken to Kerugoya Referral Hospital for medical attention. Sadly, he did not survive the treatment. Ongoing investigations are being conducted to determine the details of the stabbing and locate the perpetrator responsible for this tragic incident.

On a separate tragic incident, a 32-year-old man named Evans Muriithi was found severely injured outside rental houses in Kirinyaga East on Sunday morning. Muriithi was discovered bleeding profusely at the entrance of the rental properties in Kitharai-ini village, Kiaumbui Sub-location, Njukiini-ini South Location. One of the tenants awoke around 3:30am after hearing a commotion near the main gate, followed by a man's loud scream.

Upon looking through a window, she noticed a man lying on the ground with profuse bleeding from his head. Later, she heard a motorcycle speeding away towards the Embu-Nairobi Highway.

Police officers arrived at the scene, documented the circumstances, and retrieved Muriithi's body to Kerugoya County Referral Hospital mortuary for an autopsy. At the location, investigators found a multicolored cap, a black mobile phone, and bloodstains near the main gate and an abandoned kiosk on the nearby highway. The police are actively investigating the events leading up to the stabbing and are working to identify the attacker.
