LPG refill booking interval will be same for urban, rural areas: Union MoS Suresh Gopi

Union Minister for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Tourism Suresh Gopi announced on Monday that the central government has mandated oil marketing companies to uniformly apply the revised LPG refill booking interval of 25 days across both urban and rural regions. Previously, the interval was set at 25 days in urban areas and 45 days in rural areas, due to heightened pressure on LPG supply caused by the Middle East conflict.

However, as the supply situation has improved and the refill backlog has significantly reduced, the government has relaxed this restriction. Now, all domestic LPG consumers, irrespective of their urban or rural location, are permitted to book refills at an interval of 25 days. The minister shared a copy of the letter from the Petroleum Ministry to the oil marketing companies, instructing them to implement the change immediately.
