Kunchacko Boban, Shweta Mohan and Vedan light up Sharjah’s Onam celebrations

Sharjah transformed into a lively celebration of Kerala's cherished festival during Remitly Onamamangam Season 5, the largest Onam event in the UAE, held at Expo Centre Sharjah. The festivities encompassed a variety of attractions, including a grand Onam Sadhya, traditional games, Uriyadi, and the arrival of Maveli, uniting the UAE's Malayali community to commemorate the festival.

An estimated 8,000 attendees partook in the grand Onam Sadhya, which stood out as one of the event's key highlights. As the night unfolded, the celebrations took on a lively vibe, featuring a diverse range of cultural performances like classical dances and musical presentations. The highlight of the evening was Malayalam actor Kunchacko Boban, whose presence generated immense excitement among the captivated audience.

Kunchacko Boban showcased his talents in an energetic Chenda-and-violin fusion performance, skillfully merging traditional Kerala rhythms with a modern stage setup. The performance seamlessly combined classical precision with the distinctive pulse of the Chenda, resulting in a memorable moment of the celebrations. Renowned violinist Sabareesh Prabhakar joined Kunchacko Boban on stage for this fusion, adding another layer of richness to the traditional percussion-driven presentation.

The concert was further elevated by singer Shweta Mohan, who captivated the audience with her powerful vocals, backed by the energetic live performance of Bennet and the Band. Shweta Mohan's soulful rendition of songs added a heartfelt dimension to the star-studded evening. The event also featured popular comedy sensation Sudheer Paravoor, who delivered an exclusive live performance in his K7 Maman avatar, injecting humor and entertainment into the festivities.

As the night drew to a close, Malayalam rapper Vedan took the stage for the final act. Celebrated for his unique style and high-energy performances, Vedan delivered a powerful set that kept the audience engaged, bringing the evening to a lively conclusion.
