KEEA Assembly disburses GH¢267,518 to 94 PPCs in third quarter

The Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem Municipal Assembly disbursed GH¢267,518 to 94 persons with physical challenges in the third quarter, as part of their support package to improve the livelihoods, education, and care of vulnerable residents. Among the beneficiaries were 26 individuals with various impairments, primarily hearing and visual disabilities, as well as mental health issues.

The assembly provided assistance ranging from educational support to income-generating opportunities, with an emphasis on empowering the most vulnerable members of the community. The Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Ismail Zagoon-Saeed, praised the social support initiative and called on local authorities, leaders, and families to integrate persons with disabilities into development plans.

The Member of Parliament for the area, Mr Samuel Atta-Mills, highlighted the government's commitment to social inclusion and pledged to engage with constituents to ensure their feedback is reflected in national decisions. The disbursement was overseen by Mr Ntiamoah Gyampoh, the Municipal Social Welfare and Community Development Officer, and received gratitude from the beneficiaries, who expressed optimism that the support would enhance their independence and participation in daily life, as well as access to education and community activities.
