Kebbe attack: Sokoto govt declares war on terrorists

The Sokoto State Government has declared a full-scale war against terrorists and other criminals following a violent assault on villages in Kebbe Local Government Area. To aid the families affected by the heinous act, the administration extended N9 million in financial relief on Saturday. The funds were handed out by a team led by Prof. Jabir Sani Maihulla, the Commissioner for Religious Affairs, under Governor Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto's guidance.

The delegation went to the impacted areas to show solidarity with the victims' families, console the survivors, and offer food and monetary support.

Eight families who lost loved ones were each given N1 million, totaling N8 million. Additionally, each family received five sacks of food items. Four individuals who were injured during the attack shared N1 million, with each person receiving N250,000. They also received three sacks of rice, millet, and maize each. Prof. Maihulla expressed the government's deep concern over the killings and the grief of the affected families.

He urged the families to remain resilient and seek comfort in Almighty Allah. The Governor is determined to bolster the state's response to insecurity, and he will continue to provide resources to security agencies to strengthen their operations and assist in stopping terrorist activities.

This latest attack adds to the ongoing insecurity issues in Sokoto State, where rural communities continue to face threats from terrorists and other criminal groups. The Kebbe local government chairman, Musa Garba Kuchi, expressed gratitude to the governor for the timely and compassionate support. The Kebbe Sarkin Kabbin, Lawali Labbo Margai, and the Commissioner for Transport, Bala Kokani, also praised the government for its assistance and called for lasting peace in Kebbe and the wider Sokoto State.
