The MPS Media Poetry Challenge 2026 – Arewa Edition has announced the next stage of its competition, which will take place in Kaduna. The event, hosted by the MPS Media founder and CEO, Prof Ahmed Adamu, will feature auditions and qualifiers from the North-West region. Contestants will come from seven states, including Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Jigawa, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara, for three stages of the competition at Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Hall in Murtala Square.

This stage aims not only to determine progress but also to build confidence, develop skills, foster connections among young poets, and express their stories and aspirations through poetry. The challenge has received additional support from Her Highness Habiba Shehu Danfulani, the Patron and Founder of Zamcare Initiative and ASAD Furniture.

Her sponsorship reflects her commitment to community development, youth empowerment, and philanthropy. She has previously supported young participants through scholarships to the MPS Media Poetry Academy. The MPS Media Poetry Challenge 2026 – Arewa Edition aims to empower youth, promote cultural expression, develop leadership skills, foster peacebuilding, and discover emerging creative voices in Northern Nigeria.
