Jaguar Land Rover streicht 4000 Stellen

Coventry – The British automobile manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover has announced a significant cost-cutting package that will result in the loss of 4,000 jobs over the next two years, according to the news agency PA. The company intends to save around £1.7 billion (nearly €2 billion) through these measures. Jaguar Land Rover is the largest vehicle producer in Britain, employing approximately 43,000 employees worldwide, the majority of whom are based in the United Kingdom.

In a statement to PA, Jaguar Land Rover CEO P.B. Balaji acknowledged the industry's challenges, including technological change amidst fierce competition and ongoing geopolitical uncertainty. Like many other European automakers, Jaguar Land Rover is grappling with rising costs, declining sales figures, and increasing competition, particularly from China. Earlier this year, a massive cyberattack on the company resulted in billions of dollars in losses.
