Israel threatens senior Palestinian officials with 'all-out war' in occupied West Bank

Defence Minister Israel Katz has warned that Israel will launch an "all-out war" in the occupied West Bank if any military operations linked to the Palestinian Authority are discovered. This threat comes as Defence Minister Katz stated that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered the Israeli army to prepare for such an operation if the security situation deteriorates.

Katz emphasized that Israel will not tolerate a repeat of the Second Intifada, which occurred between 2000 and 2005 and resulted in thousands of casualties, primarily Palestinians and Israeli settlers. The Palestinian Authority has been criticized for its cooperation with Israeli security services and its suppression of Palestinian campaigners and armed groups in the West Bank.

In response to a stabbing incident involving a Palestinian in the north of the West Bank, the Israeli military reported that a man in his 20s was shot and taken to the hospital in a moderate to serious condition. Additionally, a Palestinian man was killed by Jewish settlers in Hajeh village, east of Qalqilya. The Palestinian health ministry confirmed the death after initial reports suggested Israeli forces and settlers had opened fire, resulting in several injuries.
