Inducted by CM Mann into AAP, who is Gurpreet Sekhon: Nabha jailbreak mastermind, out on bail

Gurpreet Singh Sekhon, a notorious gangster with 47 criminal cases against him for his role in the 2016 Nabha jailbreak, has been inducted into the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. The induction took place at a public rally in Zira, Punjab, drawing sharp criticism from opposition parties. Sekhon, a resident of Mudki in Ferozepur district, claimed that all cases against him have been disposed of and expressed his commitment to supporting Mann as an elder brother.

The Shiromani Akali Dal and Congress parties condemned the move, warning of a dangerous precedent of rehabilitating gangsters into electoral politics. Sekhon, however, maintains that he has turned his life around and has been working on social causes, arranging marriages for girls from poor families and contributing to road construction and disaster relief efforts.
