GrapheneOS is ‘slightly delaying’ its overhauled Messages app

Unfortunately, there is currently no timeline for when the RCS (Rich Communication Services) will be integrated into the revamped Messages app.

In a recent social media post, the GrapheneOS team announced that they are focusing on two key areas of improvement. Firstly, they are addressing a volume bar UI bug caused by an upstream Android security preview patch. Secondly, they have fixed a UI issue with the Private Space feature, which allows users to create a separate, encrypted environment for their apps and data.

The development of the new Messages app is just one of several initiatives underway at GrapheneOS. The developers are also prioritizing the creation of a secure paste feature, which aims to provide an additional layer of protection for sensitive information when copying and pasting text or other data. While the team is making significant progress on these fronts, the combination of multiple projects has led to a slight delay in the rollout of the updated Messages app.
