Google Photos just halved the time you have to rescue trashed pictures

Google Photos has reduced the time window for restoring accidentally deleted photos from 60 days to just 30 days. This change was announced in the company's support documentation and is now being rolled out to Android users through in-app notifications. Previously, if a user backed up a photo to Google Photos but later deleted it, they had up to 60 days to retrieve the image from the trash before it was permanently erased.

However, this only applied to photos stored on Google's servers. For images that remained only on the user's device, the restoration period was limited to 30 days. Now, users will have half the time to salvage their trashed pictures, prompting many to reconsider their picture-curation habits.
