Gary Oldman has revealed that Amazon has chosen the actor who will portray the next James Bond, and he supports his co-star from the TV series Slow Horses for the role. During a promotion for Slow Horses Season 6, Oldman hinted at 36-year-old Jack Lowden as the potential Bond. He stated, "Jack… it’s been rumored that he’s on the shortlist, or he’s one of… we’re gonna find out pretty soon, aren’t we?

Because they have picked him. They have made their choice. But they have not announced it yet. So, my fingers are crossed for Jack." It remains unclear whether Oldman truly knows about the casting decision or if Jack Lowden casually shared the news during a break on-set. However, Oldman appears confident that an announcement is forthcoming.

Amazon had narrowed down its list of candidates in June, with auditions slated for August. Harris Dickinson, Callum Turner, and Jacob Elordi were reportedly among those fitting the desired profile for the new Bond. Producers aimed to make an announcement by the end of the year, with filming slated to begin in 2027. While the release date for Bond 26 is still unknown, it is expected to premiere in 2028.
