Ganpati festival: Central Railway to run weekly special trains between Pune and Ratnagiri

As the Ganesh Chaturthi festival approaches, the Central Railway has unveiled special weekly trains to ease passenger travel between Pune and Ratnagiri. The Pune Division announced these trains on Saturday, with a press release detailing the schedule and coach composition. Two train pairs will run each week, offering nine trips in total.

The first pair, numbered 01445/01446, operates on Tuesdays. Train 01445 departs Pune at 00:25 hours and reaches Ratnagiri at 11:50 hours on the same day. The return journey, train 01446, leaves Ratnagiri at 17:50 hours and arrives in Pune at 05:20 hours the following morning. All four coaches are air-conditioned, with three in AC 2-Tier, fifteen in AC 3-Tier, and one in a generator car. A luggage/brake van follows the train.

The second pair, 01447/01448, runs on Saturdays. Train 01447 departs Pune at 00:25 hours, reaching Ratnagiri at 11:50 hours. The return train, 01448, departs Ratnagiri at 17:50 hours and arrives in Pune at 05:20 hours. This pair features a different coach configuration: two AC 2-Tier, four AC 3-Tier, eight Sleeper Class, and four General Second Class coaches. A generator car and a luggage/brake van complete the train.

Passengers can make reservations for reserved classes at PRS computerized counters and on the IRCTC website (www.irctc.co.in). With the festive rush in full swing, these special trains aim to provide a comfortable journey for those traveling between the two cities.
