Four helicopter passes, 30km downstream – still no sign of Malaysians missing in flood-hit Nepal

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 7 — After four passes of a helicopter over the flood-affected area in Nepal's Rasuwa district, there is still no sign of the 17 missing Malaysians. Their belongings and the six vehicles they were traveling in have also not been found. Roshan Panday, from Fishtail Tours & Travels, explained that the current was at its strongest at the spot where the vehicles were swept away, making it difficult to locate anything.

The search team also examined a nearby forest, but it was deemed unlikely that the group had managed to reach that area. The helicopter then flew along a 30km stretch downstream from the site, but nothing believed to belong to the missing group was found. The agency has divided its office team into three groups to search hospitals for any injured members of the group, but none have been located.

Additionally, bodies recovered from the disaster have not been positively identified as members of the missing group. The search for the missing Malaysians continues.
