Former USWNT manager Vlatko Andonovski out as Kansas City Current sporting director

Vlatko Andonovski, the former U.S. women's national team manager, resigned as sporting director of the Kansas City Current after less than a year. Both parties agreed that Andonovski's move from coaching to the Sporting Director role was not suitable. He was replaced by Chris Armas, who was appointed head coach in November 2025.

The club currently stands 7th in the 16-team league, with eight teams qualifying for the postseason. Armas had to handle the team during the summer months, including the absence of MVP Temwa Chaŵinga, who represented Malawi at the Women's African Cup of Nations in July and August. Since Chaŵinga's return, the Current has won three matches in a row, including a 2-1 victory over Bay FC.
