Forget the robots — next-gen phone-charging tech was the coolest stuff I saw at IFA, with Belkin, UGreen and ESR all offering something new

At the recent IFA Berlin 2026 tech conference, a fascinating trend emerged in the world of charging technology. While cutting-edge headphones, robot vacuums, and AIoT systems received much attention, new innovations in phone, tablet, and laptop charging systems caught my eye and impressed me greatly. After closely examining three standout products, I am eager to share these exciting developments with you.

First up, UGreen unveiled its innovative MagFlow lineup of wireless chargers, featuring a magnetic power bank, 3-in-1 wireless charging stand, and a 2-in-1 foldable model. The standout feature of this lineup is the MagFlow Pro Magnetic Power Bank, which boasts micro-pump liquid cooling. Unlike other wireless chargers, the MagFlow Pro's liquid cooling system actively regulates temperatures, allowing for faster charging speeds without compromising safety.

The charger even includes a transparent window, enabling users to watch the coolant circulation in real-time.

Next on the list is Belkin's introduction of semi-solid-state power banks. These new power banks utilize a less common semi-solid-state battery technology, which delivers higher storage capacity in a slimmer form factor and offers superior longevity compared to traditional lithium-ion batteries. Belkin offers two models, the UltraCharge Pro Slim Magnetic Power Bank with a 15W wireless charging capacity, and the UltraCharge Pro 10,000mAh model with a 60W maximum power output, dual USB-C ports, and a built-in display to monitor charging and temperature information.

The third innovation to catch my attention is ESR's Xtend dual-retractable cable chargers. These chargers come with a unique retractable cable design, making it effortless to charge multiple devices simultaneously. The 100W Xtend wall charger features two retractable cables that can accommodate a phone and a laptop or two tablets, while the 45W Xtend model includes an extra USB-C outlet and is more compact in design. ESR's Xtend chargers also offer extended cable lengths, up to 95cm (3.1ft), for added convenience.
