Caltech Mathathon – first hackathon ever devoted to research level mathematics

Caltech is set to host the inaugural hackathon dedicated to research-level mathematics. This event, taking place on October 30th, will bring together one hundred teams of top mathematicians from around the world. These teams will be equipped with cutting-edge AI models to tackle open mathematical conjectures and develop new theories.

After defending their findings before leading mathematicians, who will evaluate their understanding of the results, promising solutions will be awarded prizes at the event. Subsequently, as the mathematical community verifies these results, additional accolades will be presented.

This unique hackathon represents the first of its kind to focus on high-level mathematical research. Caltech is committed to implementing responsible AI practices throughout this groundbreaking endeavor.
