Belgian FA still wants Balogun ban answers

Belgium’s Football Association is demanding answers regarding Folarin Balogun's controversial playing status at the World Cup. The RBFA, in collaboration with UEFA, has requested that FIFA's Council address this issue during their meeting on October 15th. Balogun was allowed to play for the USA against Belgium after a one-game ban for a straight red card had been suspended by FIFA for a year.

This decision, which received widespread criticism, particularly due to the involvement of US President Donald Trump and White House officials in lobbying FIFA, remains unexplained. RBFA president Pascale van Damme expressed dissatisfaction, emphasizing the need for transparency and improved processes in such situations. She also stated the RBFA's refusal to support FIFA President Gianni Infantino's bid for re-election, citing the Balogun case and FIFA's proposed sales of World Cup stakes to private firms as reasons.
