Analyst dubs Dallas Turner as player to watch for Vikings in 2026

The Minnesota Vikings have faith in rookie EDGE rusher Dallas Turner, believing he could be a standout player by 2026. The team acquired Turner in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles, sending Jonathan Greenard in exchange for two third-round picks. Turner, selected 17th overall in the 2024 NFL Draft, demonstrated his potential during training camp, showcasing his speed and power in joint practices against the Baltimore Ravens.

ESPN's Ben Solak highlighted Turner as the Vikings' X-factor for 2026, praising his improved performance in the final eight weeks of the 2025 season. Notably, Turner recorded one quick pressure in the first 10 weeks of that season, but 10 such pressures in the last eight weeks. A quick pressure is when the rusher hits the ball in under 2.5 seconds.

When Turner can burst off the line and beat a tackle to the edge, it forces the quarterback to hesitate in the pocket, creating opportunities for blitzing linebackers to disrupt the throw. While Turner still needs to demonstrate his full potential over a full season, his progress suggests he may be about to reach his stride in 2026.

If he continues to develop as expected, the Vikings could have one of the NFL's premier defenses once again.
