Aldar focuses on wellness at Saadiyat development with Zen garden and serenity pool

Aldar Properties, Abu Dhabi's leading property developer, has unveiled plans to build 778 homes across six buildings in the Saadiyat Cultural District. The first phase, named Sei Saadiyat, will feature 265 homes across two buildings, with sales commencing on September 16. The project emphasizes wellness, relaxation, fitness, and restoration living, reflecting the Japanese concept of Sei, meaning stillness and calm.

Sei Saadiyat will include one, two, and three-bedroom apartments, along with two-bedroom lofts. The development boasts a hot and cold garden pool, a Zen garden paired with a serenity pool, outdoor yoga decks, three indoor gyms, outdoor fitness areas, and sports courts. Aldar Properties highlights the introduction of a loft-style format to its residential portfolio.

The company expects the project to attract strong property demand and is poised to unveil more developments in the second half of the year, targeting the luxury and middle-income segments. Aldar's development backlog reached Dh71.6 billion ($19.49 billion) by the end of June, with Dh59.9 billion coming from the UAE, which is projected to fuel revenue recognition over the next two to three years.

Despite global uncertainties, such as the Iran war, Aldar reported a 10% increase in its second-quarter profit, reaching Dh2.16 billion, as revenue grew by 5%. In July, Abu Dhabi's sovereign wealth fund, Mubadala Investment Company, increased its stake in Aldar Properties from 27.01% to 28.03% of the company's issued share capital.

This strategic move aligns with Abu Dhabi's ongoing expansion of Saadiyat Island as a prominent cultural, residential, and tourism destination. The island is home to renowned attractions like Louvre Abu Dhabi, Zayed National Museum, Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi, teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi, and the soon-to-open Guggenheim Abu Dhabi museum.
