4 areas in Sarawak back with ‘very unhealthy’ air quality

Four locations in Sarawak have been recorded with "very unhealthy" air quality levels, according to the latest air pollutant index (API) readings taken at 10pm today. The highest API reading in the region is 278, reported in Serian. Other areas with "very unhealthy" air quality include Samarahan with an API of 236, Kuching with 218, and Sri Aman with 206. Notably, there were no readings above the hazardous threshold of 300.

In Sarawak, seven locations recorded "unhealthy" API readings, indicating poor air quality. Sarikei had an API of 192, Mukah 181, Sibu 180, Samalaju 175, Miri 169, ILP Miri 168, and Bintulu 167. In Selangor, Johan Setia recorded an API of 185, while Shah Alam, Klang, Banting, Klang, and Petaling Jaya all had readings between 155 and 165. In Perak, Tasek and Seri Manjung recorded an API of 163, while Tanjung Malim had a reading of 158.

Moderate air quality was reported in thirty-one areas, and two locations were classified as "good" air quality. An API reading between 0 and 50 is considered good, 51 to 100 is moderate, 101 to 200 is unhealthy, 201 to 300 is very unhealthy, and above 300 is categorized as hazardous.
