2027: APM chieftains join ADC in Oyo

In Oyo State, a group of chieftains and members from the ruling Allied Peoples Movement (APM) have shifted allegiance to the Action Democratic Congress (ADC). This defection occurred at the weekend, led by Apostle Taiwo Olaleru and Alhaji Bashiru Ganiyu. Both leaders criticized the APM, accusing it of deceit and falsehood. They claimed their decision to join the ADC was driven by a desire to work for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Apostle Olaleru stated, "We have discovered that we need to move to a better party and we see the ADC and its governorship candidate, Olooye Adegoke, as a place we should move to and the person we can trust." Alhaji Ganiyu echoed similar sentiments, expressing his belief that the ADC would bring dividends of democracy to the people of their region.

He added, "We are pleased to be in his party and we prayed that his aspirations to govern the state will be crowned with victory." Upon joining the ADC, the defectors were welcomed by ADC's governorship candidate, Chief Adegboyega Adegoke. Adegoke assured the new members of equal opportunities and encouraged them to contribute to the party's progress.
