15,215 Nan households to receive 9,000-baht flood aid

Bangkok, September 7, 2026 — The Thai government is set to disburse 9,000-baht flood relief payments to over 15,000 Nan province households on Monday, September 8. Deputy government spokesperson Phatdarasmi Thongsaluakorn announced that the initial tranche of payments amounts to 136.94 million baht. The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation delivered the list of eligible recipients to the Government Savings Bank on September 5, which will facilitate the transfer of funds between 02:00 and 06:00 on the designated day.

Residents can verify their receipt of the funds via their Government Savings Bank account or a PromptPay-linked account using their national ID number. The government emphasized the importance of ensuring active PromptPay registration and accurate linking to their ID number. The aid follows a Cabinet decision on August 25, which established the criteria and procedures for financial assistance to households impacted by flooding during the 2026 rainy season.

Eligible recipients can receive a one-time payment of 9,000 baht if their primary residence experienced flooding for seven days or less with property damage, or if the residence was submerged for over seven consecutive days. The home must also be situated in a disaster zone or an area designated for government assistance. Flood victims who have not yet applied for assistance can do so through the Tang Rat government application, which integrates with civil registration records to verify applicants and enables them to monitor their application status.

Alternatively, applications can be submitted in person at local administrative offices where officials can assist residents in inputting their information into the system. The Prime Minister has directed agencies to expedite assistance, enabling local authorities to submit verified applications in batches, thereby expediting the forwarding of approved cases to the Government Savings Bank for payment.

Nan province's eligible flood victims in the first round of payments are advised to confirm their bank or PromptPay account details prior to the scheduled disbursement of 9,000 baht on September 8.
