Zulkifli: Higher allocations show Madani govt commitment as Malaysia earns global Islamic recognition

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 6 — The Madani Government remains dedicated to enhancing Islamic affairs in Malaysia, as evidenced by the significant rise in funding, now reaching RM2.6 billion from last year's RM1.5 billion allocation. This financial boost underscores the administration's dedication to advancing the sector, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Dr Zulkifli Hasan declared during the inauguration of the Madani Kita Programme (PMK) 2026 at the Lembah Pantai Community Centre.

Zulkifli highlighted Malaysia's exceptional achievements in Islamic fields, noting that the country's haj management has consistently ranked as the world's best for five consecutive years. Furthermore, Malaysia's halal industry has earned the top global position, a status it has maintained for the past decade, while the nation's Islamic banking sector has also held this leading position for the same period.

The PMK initiative, a collaboration between the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) and various Religious Affairs agencies, seeks to bring government services closer to the public through information dissemination, engagement, and community services. These services encompass advice, health screenings, education, training, and career development, all while adhering to legal frameworks and respecting the country's diversity.
