Women’s Promo run attracts a large number of girls, women

On a memorable morning in Vijayapura, a large number of girls and women took part in the Women’s Promo run, a training event for the upcoming Vrikshathon Heritage Run on December 13. The participants, dressed in ethnic and traditional attire, mostly in sarees, ran through a route that passed before historic landmarks like the Gol Gumbaz.

Ranjitha K.R and Savita Kallur flagged off the event, while students, employees, and volunteers supported the occasion by distributing energy drinks and sweets. Brahmakumari Ishwariya Vishvavidyalaya's B.K. Saroja delivered a pledge for freedom from addiction and led a meditation session. Many Brahmakumaris and elderly women also joined the run.

Superintendent of Police Laxman Nimbaragi's parents Basavaraj and Gurubai were among the attendees. Yoga expert and marathon runner Renuka Prasad had trained the majority of the participants, promising further training in the lead-up to the Vrikshathon Heritage Run. The event saw participants raising slogans for environmental protection and engaging in house and garden competitions, all while posting pictures on social media. Vrikshathon core committee members were present to oversee the activities.
