Witkoff, Kushner say they made progress in Moscow, hope for trilateral talks soon

U.S. presidential representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner conveyed to journalists in Kyiv on Sunday that they had made significant progress in Moscow, according to Ukrinform correspondent. Witkoff revealed that the delegation had heard new ideas during their talks in Moscow, which included discussions about a potential trilateral talks with Russia and Ukraine. President Volodymyr Zelensky had previously mentioned the possibility of such talks, which the U.S. hoped to announce soon.

The delegation also addressed various other crucial ideas in Moscow that were later discussed in Kyiv, Witkoff emphasized, highlighting the importance of cooperation in advancing the peace process. Kushner stated that they had engaged in extensive discussions with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, covering proposals that had previously been unsuccessful. The talks centered on the potential benefits for Russia, Ukraine, and the international community from a possible peace agreement.

Kushner described the conversation with Putin as a productive dialogue, noting that both sides asked and answered numerous questions. It was reported that Witkoff and Kushner arrived in Kyiv on September 6, with their visit to Moscow occurring on September 5. During their time in Moscow, they met with Putin for more than three hours, according to media reports.
