Ukraine logged impacts at 11 sites while the American peace delegation was still in Moscow

On the night of September 5, 2026, Russia launched a series of 108 strike drones and S8000 Banderol cruise missiles at Ukraine, according to the country's Air Force. This assault coincided with American peace delegates Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner concluding a three-hour meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow.

The delegation departed Moscow shortly after midnight, heading to Kyiv the following day, carrying a proposal for an end to the conflict. However, Russia declined Ukraine's offer of a four-day ceasefire. Throughout the ongoing war, Russia has continued daily air attacks on Ukrainian cities and towns, resulting in civilian casualties in apartment buildings, hospitals, and shelters.

In the early hours of September 6, air defenses managed to down or neutralize 82 Shahed-type, Gerbera, and other drones, as well as six Banderol missiles. At 11 impact locations, debris fell, and the military warned that Russian drones remained in Ukraine's airspace. Over the previous day, Russian strikes killed seven people and injured 57 across several oblasts, including Kharkiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Donetsk.

In Chuhuiv, a Russian drone attack resulted in the deaths of an 11-year-old boy, his 19-year-old sister, and their 45-year-old father.
