Traffic alert: FRSC diverts vehicles on Kaduna–Zaria highway

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has implemented a temporary traffic diversion on the Kaduna–Zaria segment of the A2 highway, effective from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 6, 2026. This diversion, situated at DK825, Kwaranza Village, near the junction with the Kaduna–Kano railway line, is aimed at allowing engineers to examine railway bridge beams being constructed as part of the Kaduna–Kano Rail Modernisation Project.

Motorists are only permitted to use one lane of the dual carriageway during this period, with FRSC personnel tasked with managing traffic at the affected section. The FRSC has deployed warning signs, cones, and diversion markers to guide motorists and reduce the disruption caused by the temporary arrangement. Authorities have strongly urged motorists to adhere to all traffic signs, signs, and instructions provided by FRSC personnel, as well as to reduce their speed, refrain from overtaking, and exercise caution when approaching the diversion.

The FRSC emphasizes that safety is a shared responsibility and apologizes for any inconvenience caused by the temporary traffic diversion. They recommend that motorists plan their journeys in advance and consider alternative routes to minimize delays.
