Teachers’ Day In Indore: IMC Honours Over 160 Educators; Vijayvargiya Says ‘Teachers Shape Students’ Future’

Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) honored over 160 educators on Teachers' Day with a felicitation ceremony, recognizing their significant contributions to the field of education. Urban development and housing minister Kailash Vijayvargiya emphasized the revered position of teachers in society, drawing parallels between Chanakya, Chandragupta, Dronacharya, and Eklavya.

Water resources minister Tulsiram Silawat highlighted the crucial role teachers play in realizing India's vision of development by 2047, despite challenges posed by rapid technological change. Poet Satyanarayan Sattan expressed the belief that teachers' students are their real wealth, describing teachers as embodiments of Goddess Saraswati.

Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava underscored the importance of teachers in building future citizens and acknowledged the ongoing need for improvement in education and healthcare. MP Shankar Lalwani stressed the vital responsibility of teachers in shaping the next generation towards the 2047 developed India vision. The honored educators received shawls, coconuts, certificates, and mementoes, followed by a felicitation lunch.

The civic body organized the annual event at 11 am at Ravindra Natyagraha. Additionally, the IMC launched a campaign encouraging citizens to exchange five books or 500 grams of plastic for a plant, which will run until September 30 at all RRR Centres across the city.
