Security forces kill over 20 terrorists during multiple engagements in KP: ISPR

Security forces killed more than 20 terrorists during several encounters in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) between September 3 and 5, according to the military’s media affairs wing, ISPR. The slain terrorists were sponsored by India and were part of the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), referred to by the state as Fitna-al-Khawarij.

One engagement took place in North Waziristan on the night of August 31 to September 1, where security forces initially killed 15 terrorists attempting to infiltrate into Pakistan via the border with Afghanistan. Subsequently, ten more terrorists were killed in that area, bringing the total killed in that event to 25. In another encounter in North Waziristan, a group of terrorists along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border was detected, and after a precise and skilled engagement, seven more terrorists were neutralized.

Additionally, four more terrorists were killed in separate encounters in Kohat and Dera Ismail Khan during joint operations. ISPR emphasized that these repeated incidents at the border have proven Pakistan's persistent stance that the Afghan Taliban regime is failing to prevent Afghan soil from being used by the terrorist organization for cross-border attacks.

They also stated that the Afghan Taliban regime has consistently failed to manage the border effectively and honor its international counter-terrorism obligations. Security forces remain committed to defending the nation's frontiers and vowed to continue relentless counter-terrorism operations under the 'Azm-i-Istehkam' vision to eliminate the threat of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.
