Saxony-Anhalt: Far-right AfD eyes power in German state vote

Election day has arrived in Saxony-Anhalt, a state in Germany, and the political atmosphere is as polarized as a Brexit or U.S. presidential election in 2016. The outcome of this vote is being closely observed in Berlin and beyond due to its significance.

Saxony-Anhalt, with its cultural and historical heritage, is one of Germany's 16 federal states.
