Relief in Congress as all factions accept Pilot as Punjab handler

Delhi: Congress is rejoicing after all political factions in Punjab agreed upon Sachin Pilot's appointment as the party's state incharge. Sachin Pilot replaces Bhupesh Baghel, who faced a lot of criticism. Former Punjab chief minister Charanjit Channi and Lok Sabha MP Sukhjinder Randhawa, who were part of the dissident group against Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, have both welcomed Pilot's appointment with open arms.

Warring also appreciated Pilot's appointment. Channi expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Congress brass for the decision, and Randhawa wished Pilot the very best for this critical responsibility, stating Pilot's experience, leadership, and connection with people will provide a new boost to the Congress organization in the state.

While they initially welcomed the decision, doubts remain about their willingness to drop their demand for Warring's removal. Sources indicate there's little chance of a shift in state leadership right now. Congress, which had been rattled by factional dissent in Punjab, is gearing up for a statewide yatra featuring Rahul Gandhi, scheduled for late September or early October, amid looming elections.
