Pelajar UiTM maut akibat masalah berkaitan haba

A UiTM student died after suffering from heat-related issues while participating in the Commander Courage Endurance Challenge (KKEC) at UiTM Jengka campus in Maran on Friday, according to Police Chief Maran Wong Kim Wai. Fadhlan Fakhry Solana Mohd Fellimal, 21, passed away at Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital (HoSHAS) in Temerloh on Saturday.

Chief Wong confirmed the victim among two students receiving medical attention at HoSHAS, while seven others were hospitalized at Jengka Hospital. Initial tests revealed the student experienced heat-related problems, including oxygen deprivation, during the event. Further developments will be provided upon receipt of Fadhlan Fakhry's autopsy report, according to The Star.

Meanwhile, UiTM Pahang announced that all KKEC activities scheduled for today have been canceled and expressed condolences to Fadhlan Fakhry's family. The university will provide comprehensive support to ensure all necessary arrangements regarding the remains, documentation, transportation, and emotional support to the family are handled promptly and without difficulty.

Fadhlan Fakhry was an upper-year diploma student at the Seremban campus and represented UiTM Negeri Sembilan in the event. KKEC is an annual program involving Commander Courage participants from UiTM branches nationwide, testing physical and mental strength, tactical skills, endurance, and teamwork among students. The program, held from September 2 to 8 at UiTM Jengka campus, adhered to strict health and safety procedures.

All participants were required to undergo health screening before the program began, along with regular health checks before each event. Some participants were asked to withdraw after failing the final health screening. UiTM takes the incident seriously and will continue to monitor the situation to ensure the well-being of all involved.
