Other Provinces Threaten Punjab: Maryam Nawaz

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz stated that her province is facing a greater security threat from neighboring provinces rather than neighboring countries. During the inauguration of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Hub in Lahore on Saturday, Maryam highlighted various security concerns in Punjab, including organized crime, ethnic and religious issues, and drug trafficking.

She emphasized the need for improved coordination among federal and provincial law enforcement and intelligence agencies to bolster security measures. Maryam noted that Punjab had heavily invested in security technology, such as thermal cameras, drones, fortified checkposts near the border, bulletproof cameras, and safe rooms. The AI Hub, according to her, would aid authorities in amalgamating intelligence and identifying emerging threats to prevent incidents.

She also emphasized the role of the AI Hub in enhancing security measures in Punjab. Additionally, Maryam underscored the significance of cooperation between the Armed Forces and provincial governments in maintaining the state's authority. She revealed that crime in Punjab had decreased by 70 percent since she assumed office.
