'Not as I had planned': MK Zvika Fogel announces he will not run with Otzma Yehudit

Israeli MK Zvika Fogel revealed on Sunday that he will not participate in the upcoming October elections alongside his party, Otzma Yehudit. Regrettably, Fogel stated that continuing his activities in the Knesset or a future government is no longer feasible, as he initially envisioned. Consequently, he will not seek re-election for the 26th Knesset on behalf of Otzma Yehudit.

Otzma Yehudit chairman MK Itamar Ben-Gvir praised Fogel, acknowledging his commitment to the state's security and his unwavering dedication throughout his tenure. The chairman expressed his heartfelt gratitude for their shared path, friendship, loyalty, and significant contributions to Otzma Yehudit and the nation. Ben-Gvir further announced that Otzma Yehudit has decided to place MK Limor Son Har-Melech and MK Yitzhak Kreuzer in the fifth and sixth positions on their party list for the elections.

This decision maintains the same positions both MKs held in the previous elections, during which Otzma Yehudit secured six mandates. The latest Maariv poll predicts that Otzma Yehudit will retain its six seats in the upcoming election, ensuring safe spots for Son Har-Melech and Kreuzer.
