Maitland-Niles screamer earns Everton 2-2 draw with Man Utd

On Sunday, Ainsley Maitland-Niles scored a brilliant equaliser in the final minutes of a 2-2 draw between Everton and Manchester United at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. Benjamin Sesko had put Manchester United ahead with an 88th-minute header, but Maitland-Niles from a 30-yard shot ensured a point for Everton and kept their unbeaten start to the season alive.

United currently has four points from their opening three games, placing them 11th in the Premier League table, while Everton finds themselves in eighth position with five points from the same number of matches. Bryan Mbeumo had given United the lead early in the second half, but Everton equalised through Tyrique George's powerful shot and sealed the draw with Maitland-Niles' late goal.

The young midfielder, who moved to Everton from Lyon recently, expressed his delight at the equaliser saying "It felt like a win... We dug deep and managed to get a point in the end." Despite leading twice and hitting the crossbar in the first half, United were unable to secure a win. Everton, on the other hand, demonstrated their fighting spirit and resilience by coming away with a crucial point.
