Chip Wilson, the founder of Lululemon, has a reported net worth of $6.1 billion, which is now under scrutiny due to his ongoing divorce proceedings and the company's financial struggles. Wilson, who established Lululemon in Vancouver in 2000, is divorcing his wife of 20 years, Shannon "Summer" Wilson, without a prenuptial agreement.

Family litigation filed in the British Columbia Supreme Court remains sealed, heightening interest in the division of their assets. Wilson holds a significant stake in Lululemon, estimated at around 8.6%, valued at nearly $1 billion, although the exact figure is not yet publicly confirmed. He also owns substantial holdings in other companies, such as Amer Sports, a Finnish sporting goods group, with a reported 18% stake valued at $3 billion.

The absence of a prenuptial agreement has drawn attention to how their assets may be divided during the divorce. Despite his wealth, Wilson stepped down as chairman of Lululemon in 2013 and completely exited the business in 2015. The athleticwear company is currently facing challenges, including slowing sales, falling market share, and weak consumer demand.

Lululemon recently lowered its full-year outlook for the second time, attributing the decline to weak sales and increased competition from brands like Alo Yoga and Vuori. The company's shares have plummeted nearly 69% since early 2025. As the new CEO, Heidi O'Neill, takes charge, Lululemon will need to revitalize its sales and regain its competitive edge in the athleisure market, which has seen Alo Yoga and Vuori gaining market share.
