Kleindienst takes aim at Gladbach teammates after collapse against Elversberg

Borussia Mönchengladbach have had a disastrous start to the Bundesliga season, collecting no points from their first two matches. Following a 3-0 defeat to RB Leipzig, they appeared poised for victory when they took a 3-1 lead against SV Elversberg at Borussia-Park on Saturday. However, they faltered and ultimately lost the match 4-3.

In the post-game interview with ZDF, Gladbach captain Tim Kleindienst vented his frustration over the blunders and lapses in concentration that allowed Elversberg to regain control of the game. "We must sharpen our focus immediately so that it remains constant for the entire 90 minutes. And I have no clue what the cause is – perhaps they should limit their TikTok usage or something similar," Kleindienst stated, delivering a direct message to his teammates.

"Ultimately, they just need to maintain their clarity and composure throughout the 90 minutes, complete the full 90 minutes, and maintain their focus to defend until the very end. They cannot continue to squander possession, make ill-advised passes, and commit unnecessary fouls."
