Kavitha demands arrest of constable over ‘abusive’ social media comments against her

Telangana Rakshana Sena chief K. Kavitha has called for the arrest of a police constable who made abusive comments about her on social media. She criticized the decision to only suspend the constable and demanded that he face criminal charges. Kavitha urged the State DGP not to be lenient and suggested invoking provisions from the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Information Technology Act regarding abusive comments against women.

She questioned why women like her, who have spent 20 years in public life and served as an MP and MLC, do not receive adequate protection. The police chief should take immediate action, Kavitha warned, threatening to raise the issue on international platforms if no charges are filed. She also pushed for the introduction of the proposed hate speech legislation, announced by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, during upcoming Assembly sessions starting September 7.

Kavitha accused Congress and BRS of engaging in political theater in the Assembly rather than allowing proper discussion of public concerns.
