Kartik Aaryan’s Captain India finally takes flight after 5-year delay; director thanks crew

Captain India, the film starring Kartik Aaryan, is finally moving forward after a five-year delay. The movie, which has gone through several changes including a change in director, is now being filmed in London. Shimit Amin, who began shooting on September 1, 2026, shared a heartfelt message for the crew on September 4, praising their dedication and energy.

The message, shared by Kartik Aaryan on social media, read, "Ready to fly with the Maverick #ShimitAmin #CaptainIndia." The film's journey began in 2021 with Hansal Mehta as director, but it faced controversy when producer Subhash Kale accused Captain India of being similar to his own project based on Operation Raahat in Yemen. The issue was resolved after Kale clarified his statement.

Shimit Amin, known for films like Chak De! India and Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year, replaced Mehta as director. Kartik Aaryan, Parvathy Thiruvothu, and Manish Chaudhary are set to star in the film, which is scheduled for release on August 13, 2027.
