Joho, Wanga rally support for Ruto to ensure equitable resource distribution

Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi has been actively encouraging Migori residents to rally behind President William Ruto, highlighting the government’s initiatives in the county. At the launch of the Last Mile Connectivity Project in Lwala Rabuor village, Nyatike Sub-County, Wandayi emphasized the government’s dedication to equitable development throughout Migori and the broader Nyanza region.

"Under President Ruto’s leadership, residents of Nyanza are beginning to witness numerous development projects," stated Wandayi. He informed that the government is investing Ksh2.3 billion in electrifying over 20,000 households across the eight constituencies in Migori County during the current fiscal year. This initiative, aimed at enhancing access to electricity, is expected to stimulate economic activity, foster business opportunities, and improve educational outcomes through digital learning and extended study hours.

Wandayi further explained that the project aligns with President Ruto’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), which aims to foster inclusive growth, promote equitable development, and ensure shared prosperity. Additionally, Wandayi inaugurated a community tree-planting campaign at Lwala Rabuor Comprehensive School in North Kadem Ward, Nyatike, and called on Migori residents to re-elect President Ruto in the upcoming 2027 General Election to ensure the continuation of development projects in Nyanza.

The CS also inaugurated rural electrification projects in Burumba Ward within Matayos Constituency and later in Nasewa, Busia County.
