High-level committee formed in Maharashtra for transparency in recruitment examinations

The Maharashtra government has established a high-level committee to examine the current recruitment examination system and propose reforms aimed at enhancing transparency, security, reliability, fairness, and candidate orientation. This decision was made during a meeting chaired by the Chief Minister on August 12, 2026. The committee, led by Additional Chief Secretary (Services) of the General Administration Department, V. Radha, consists of seven members.

These include Sadanand Date, Director General of Police; Virendra Singh, Secretary of the Electronics, Information Technology, and Artificial Intelligence Department; Praveen Gedam, Divisional Commissioner of Nashik Division; Air Marshal Ajit Shankarrao Bhosale (retd), a former member of the Union Public Service Commission; and Professor of Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Mumbai.

Dr. N. Ramaswamy, Secretary of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying Development and Fisheries, will serve as the member secretary. The committee will conduct visits to every Revenue Division in the state to engage in discussions and consultations with students, candidates, representatives from educational institutions, and other pertinent stakeholders.

The committee will consider their feedback and suggestions when proposing improvements to the examination system. Additionally, the committee will review best practices from other states in India and examination systems from other countries, if deemed necessary.
