Hajj registration opens Sept. 20 for one month as Awqaf launches early preparations

Registration for the Hajj season of 1448 AH opened on September 20 and will remain open until October 20, according to the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs. The online registration system can be accessed via the official Hajj website, hajj.gov.qa. This early registration initiative is part of the Ministry's preparations to enhance services for pilgrims from Qatar.

Director of the Department of Hajj and Umrah Affairs, Ali bin Sultan Al Musaifri, highlighted that the early start to registration helps Hajj operators secure contracts and operational arrangements ahead of time, which in turn improves the quality of services provided to pilgrims. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has set a quota of 4,400 pilgrims for the 1448 AH season, and applicants must meet certain health criteria to ensure they can safely perform the Hajj rites.

Qatari citizens must be at least 18 years old, while residents and citizens of Gulf Cooperation Council countries must be at least 45 years old and have lived in Qatar for at least 15 years. The Ministry has also streamlined the online registration process with more flexible payment options, allowing pilgrims to complete the contract with approved Hajj campaigns through the platform.

Hajj operators will be listed on the Hajj website, and the public is encouraged to contact the Department of Hajj and Umrah Affairs through official channels for any inquiries or concerns. The final cost of the Hajj package will be announced later, and the electronic screening process for applications will begin immediately after the registration deadline.
