Govt Open To Dialogue With MPSC Aspirants: BJP MLA Vikram Pachpute In Pune

On the eve of a possible protest march by MPSC aspirants in Pune, BJP MLA Vikram Pachpute stated that the government was open to dialogue with students and had no issues with the agitation, provided it was carried out constitutionally. The government's priority was to understand the aspirants' concerns and seek resolutions through discussions, said Pachpute. He added, "Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had earlier discussed the students' demands with teachers, and a constructive dialogue ensued."

Pachpute revealed that the government had granted approval for Monday's march. If the protest was conducted legally, the government expressed no objection to it. He emphasized that the government was not advocating for the cancellation of the march.

Pachpute also mentioned that he had met students in Pune to gauge their issues. He reiterated the government's commitment to finding a solution through dialogue and stressed that students' concerns should not be exploited for political gains. He cautioned against using students as a tool for political mobilization, stating, "Students should not be used for political purposes; their issues should be resolved."

Regarding the students' demand for the resignation of the MPSC chairman, Pachpute clarified that the government could not directly request or force the resignation, as the commission is an autonomous constitutional body. He clarified that the government could not enforce the resignation and that such a decision would be made if a thorough inquiry found the chairman guilty. He reiterated that the chairman could choose to resign on moral grounds, but ultimately, the decision rested with him.

Pachpute addressed criticism from NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar by stating that everyone had the right to raise an issue, but cautioned against exploiting the issue for political gains. He noted that a student representation would be considered in the inquiry process. The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls was underway, and names that did not meet the criteria could be removed. However, eligible citizens could still add their names to the rolls.
