Elly De La Cruz homers, drives in 4 runs as the Reds beat the Brewers 12-8

Elly De La Cruz played a pivotal role in the win, hitting a two-run homer and a bases-loaded double, contributing to four RBIs. This marked the team's first win in a series against Milwaukee since 2022, ending the Brewers' nine-game winning streak.

Sal Stewart led the way for the Reds with his MLB-leading 107th RBI, achieved through a sacrifice fly. Christian Yelich opened the fourth inning with a walk, followed by Jake Bauers' team-leading 24th homer, giving the Brewers an early lead. Garrett Mitchell's triple and run scored on a throwing error leveled the game. De La Cruz's 22nd home run in the fourth inning extended the Reds' lead to 6-3.

Brady Singer pitched a scoreless fifth inning but allowed six runs on four hits and six walks over five innings. Luis Mey pitched a scoreless sixth. Brock Burke and Graham Ashcraft completed the Reds' pitching rotation, each pitching scoreless innings in the seventh and eighth respectively. The Brewers rallied with Bo Naylor's hit, but Cincinnati's Emilio Pagan secured the win with his 22nd save.

The game was temporarily halted when a bird landed on the infield, which De La Cruz rescued from the field. The Brewers will host the Cubs on Monday, while Cincinnati faces the Dodgers at the same venue.
