Derby County boss gives updates on trio of injury problems following defeat to West Ham

Derby County manager John Eustace provided an update on the injury struggles of three key players following their recent defeat to West Ham. Eiran Cashin, who recently joined on a season-long loan from Brighton, missed the match due to an ongoing ankle issue that had also kept him sidelined in Brighton's final weeks. Eustace revealed that Cashin's ankle problem is causing him some discomfort, and he hopes the player will be available soon.

Bobby Clark managed to start on the bench but was dealing with a hamstring issue that had him struggling throughout the game. Eustace noted that Clark had only recently returned to training and was consequently a bit shaky after the match, justifying his bench appearance. The manager also expressed concern over the player's long-term recovery, stating that recovering from hamstring injuries can be a lengthy process.

Filip Bilbija was ruled out of the game entirely due to a back injury, adding to Derby's list of injury woes. The manager explained that Bilbija is having difficulty adjusting to the Championship's training methods and the overall league level. Eustace highlighted that players who are not accustomed to the competitive nature of the Championship often require some time to adapt to the demands of the league. Consequently, Derby has several first-team players currently unavailable due to various injuries.
