Chris Paul calls last season with Clippers 'one of the most disrespectful things that I've endured'

Chris Paul, a key figure in the Clippers' transition from Donald Sterling ownership to Steve Ballmer, called his final season with the team one of the most disrespectful experiences he has endured. Paul came back for his last season before retiring, but his strong leadership clashed with coach Tyronn Lue and management. The duo held Paul accountable, leading to his being sent away from the team just 21 games into the season.

Despite still being on the roster, Paul was later traded to Toronto in a purely financial move. Reflecting on the situation on the Build or Break podcast, Paul expressed his disappointment, saying it showed that no matter one's contributions, nobody cares. Playing 16 games with the Clippers during his Hall of Fame career, Paul was a legend during his first stint from 2011-2017, earning three NBA First-Teams, five First-Team All-Defensive teams, and two top-five MVP finishes.

However, his role was limited last season, with an average of 2.9 points per game and a low shooting percentage. The Clippers' poor start and subsequent fallout between Paul and Lue led to his separation from the team, a move that caught many off guard.
