Policeman Yusof Othman of Kuala Lumpur confirmed that a preliminary investigation under Section 324 of the Penal Code has been initiated for intentional causing injury with a weapon after a man, possibly intoxicated, murdered his wife with a knife after she turned up the television audio too loud at their home in Johor Bahru last night.

The incident occurred around 9:30 pm, causing the 70-year-old victim to suffer a wound, approximately one centimeter deep on her right hand, but she was reported to be stable after receiving treatment at Johor Bahru Hospital. The police were alerted by the public regarding the incident of a woman being injured as a result of her husband intentionally killing her.

Responding swiftly to the information, the police reached the location of the incident and managed to apprehend the suspect, who was also the 70-year-old victim's husband. Investigations revealed that the incident occurred due to misunderstanding after the victim turned up the television volume to a high level. The suspect, who was intoxicated, subsequently acted by stabbing the victim once on her right hand, according to a statement from the police, as reported by Harian Metro.

Yusof mentioned that the police opened an investigation under Section 324 of the Penal Code for intentionally causing injury with a weapon.
